Pool Covers in New Jersey

A pool cover keeps debris, sunlight and people out of the water when the pool is not in use. Winter covers protect the pool through the off-season, while safety covers are anchored to the deck and designed to support weight. Lester Pools supplies, measures, fits, repairs and replaces both types for in-ground and above-ground pools.

A cover is one of the least expensive parts of a pool, yet a failure can create costly problems. A torn winter cover can leave the water full of leaves and algae by spring. A loose or poorly fitted safety cover is more serious because it creates the appearance of protection without providing reliable security.

Winter pool covers

Winter pool covers limit leaves, dirt and sunlight during the off-season, helping reduce staining and algae before spring opening. Depending on the pool, they may be secured with water bags, clips or a cable system. These covers are intended to protect the water and pool—not to support the weight of a person or animal.

Safety pool covers

Safety covers are tensioned across the pool and secured to deck anchors. When correctly specified and installed, they are designed to support weight, provide meaningful protection around children and pets, shed debris and deliver a longer service life than a standard winter cover. Each one must be measured for the exact pool shape and deck.

Reliable performance depends on correct fit, anchor placement and accommodation for steps, rails, waterfalls and other obstacles. We also inspect springs, straps and anchors for wear, corrosion or loss of tension before recommending repair or replacement.

Fitting, repair and replacement

We measure, order and fit covers to the individual pool, and replace the components that tend to wear first—straps, springs, anchors, clips and water bags. A localized tear in otherwise sound material can often be repaired. When the entire panel has become brittle, replacement is the safer long-term choice. We can also identify related edge or coping issues before they damage a new cover or the pool’s vinyl liner. Regular inspection can then be incorporated into seasonal service or a coordinated pool maintenance plan.

Covers, closing and local service

Most cover work is best handled during pool closing, when the cover is already out of storage and its condition is easy to inspect. Lester Pools is family-owned and based in Jackson, serving Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex and Burlington counties and Staten Island, NY. We work with in-ground and above-ground pools and can coordinate cover fitting, winterization and spring opening through the same experienced team.
